In July 2008, the Gujarati Samaj held an exciting Summer Retreat in Hinckley, Minnesota. With more than 200 Gujaratis in attendance over a several acre park, the Committee was busy keeping a constant flow of entertainment.
We hope you enjoyed the scenic woods, the wildlife (deer and bear sightings were reported by Samaj members), and food and entertainment.

Good afternoon!
It gives me great pride and joy to inform you that we have thoroughly enjoyed the summer retreat. I am compelled to say that 1) facility, 2) food, 3) activities and 4) overall coordination were well planned and executed.

OUTSTANDING SUMMER PICNIC VENUE.Great Job all around and can we do it again in September?Had we known that we had restaurant style oven in the kitchen, PIZZA homemade with various toppings could have been made and kids would have loved it. NO COMPLAINTS WHAT SO EVER.

Sincerely,Dhawal, Dhwani and Eshan Parekh ------------Dear Anish, Ashit and Gujarati Samaj Committee A big thank you for the memorable 44 hours of picnic that was flawlessly arranged by your team for the benefit of the Gujarati Samaj Members. We were very impressed with the meticulous planning and the superb execution by your team. You have demonstrated extraordinary leadership that combined intelligent planning, wonderful team organization and hard work. Such leadership makes the Samaj a strong entity that brings so many families together and provides the platform for our children. The food committee under the leadership of BeenaBen and SonalBen provided delicious meals. The meals were well planned with a range of variety from Gujarati, South Indian and Fast Food. There was plenty of food and all the members were eating at all times. This was accomplished without having access to electricity for most of the time. They silently worked tirelessly preparing and serving the meals with an enthusiastic smile on their faces. A very encouraging sign of volunteerism was seeing BeenaBen’s son working so hard in the kitchen. All the spouses of the committee were hard at work. The sports and the entertainment under IshitaBen was complete and varied. Every age group had some activity that they could participate ranging from Garba, Volleyball, Cricket, Limbu Chachi, Antakshari, etc. Everybody was able to participate in some activity during their stay.Overall the whole team managed a complex undertaking with lots of pride, dignity and made every member feel at home and part of one big family. This is what builds a community and raises a family. While we as members can only show our gratitude thru thank your notes, each member under the leadership of Anish needs to take great pride in such a significant accomplishment and their abilities to successfully organize events.
